Learning Goals and Outline: Introduction to the Thyroid Gland
Goal for this video: Understand how the thyroid gland affects the body, and practical ways to support it.
The Thyroid Gland Affects:
- Appetite, Temperature, Skin, Hair, Metabolism, Hormones, Digestion, Mental Clarity, Moods, etc.
Hyper and Hypo -Thyroid Symptoms
Hyper-thyroid symptoms
- Body feels “revved up”
- Heart Pounding
- Can be the result of a viral infection
Hyper-thyroidism is traditionally treated by disabling the thyroid gland with radiation then supplementing with thyroid hormones
Hypo-thyroid symptoms
- Very common, many people live undiagnosed (TSH level is often within accepted parameters, even though all the classic symptoms are present)
- Fatigue
- Trouble losing weight
- Sluggish gut
- Foggy/difficulty making decisions
- Emotional
- Paranoid
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Cravings and addictive behaviors
- Hair Loss
Hypo-thyroidism is traditionally treated by adding synthetic hormones to the body, leading to a continued reduction in natural thyroid function.
Most common chemicals that interfere with thyroid gland function are CHLORINE AND FLUORIDE
Found in:
- Drinking water
- Cleaning supplies
- Toothpaste (Often find “do not ingest” warnings on tubes due to toxicity of fluoride)
Foods that may negatively influence the thyroid gland:
- Almonds
- Flax seed
Supporting the body to produce hormones in proper way by:
- Eliminating toxic substances allows the body to heal over time and resume normal function
- Search labels for toxic ingredients
- Use the General Screen
- Immune Support supplement
- HealthScan Solutions Thyroid-Brain supplement
